The legendary flautist and his wife turned the Mozart favourite into a fantastic flute duet backstage at Classic FM Live.
The pair's impromptu performance was as tight as ever. "We play together all the time - for over 30 years," said Lady Jeanne, adding that the secret of their long partnership is respect. Watch the duet here:
The Galways were due to perform Rondo alla Turca later at Classic FM Live in front of a sell-out Royal Albert Hall. They chose the piece because it's entertaining and, says Lady Jeanne, "You only have to play the first few notes and everyone knows what it is."
Sir James also played a Mercadante flute concerto, which he chose because he just loves the composer. "This guy wrote really great flute concertos," said Sir James. "He's the favourite of all the young flute players."
