The 12-year-old everyone’s talking about, The Choirgirl, will be performing at Classic FM Live on 30 September, joining an exciting line-up including Jack Liebeck, Gabriela Montero and Craig Ogden.
Isabel Suckling signed a record deal with Universal Music on 13 September at the London Eye, making her the youngest ever solo classical artist to be taken on by a major record label, and the first choirgirl to sign a record contract.
Isabel was discovered by Universal Music at York Minster, where she has been a chorister since she was seven. She is being managed by Aled Jones, who was Isabel’s age when his own singing career took off.
Isabel will perform some songs from her forthcoming album, The Choirgirl, at Classic FM Live on Thursday 30 September. The programme already includes Grieg's Piano Concerto, played by Gabriela Montero, Vaughan Williams' The Lark Ascending with Jack Liebeck, and Ungar's The Ashokan Farewell with Craig Ogden.
Classic FM heard Isabel live at an exclusive showcase on 14 September, at which she performed a few tracks from her first album, including ‘All things bright and beautiful’, Michael Jackson’s ‘You are not alone’ and a vocal arrangement of Einaudi’s I Giorni. All we can say is that we liked her so much that we had to secure her to sing at Classic FM Live so you can hear her too!
