Classic FM had a world exclusive on Monday 13 September – the first ever radio play of an album by the youngest ever solo classical artist to be signed by a major record label, a 12-year-old chorister.
Isabel Suckling, who will now be called ‘The Choirgirl’, signed a record deal with Universal Music at the London Eye this morning. She is the first choirgirl to sign a record contract.
The Choirgirl from York Minster will be managed and mentored by Aled Jones, who has said he is "very pleased to play a small part in enabling her to reach a wider audience".
Isabel was joined at the London Eye signing this morning by Aled Jones and Dickon Stainer, President of Decca Records Group, who commented: “When I was a chorister, it was still boys only. Today marks the start of ‘Girlpower’ for choristers!”
